Cannabis and the Workplace - A Primer for Employers and Employees

Cannabis impairment in the workplace is not a new issue, however, the topic has certainly stimulated meaningful dialogue concerning the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees since the Cannabis Act (2018) came into force. This session will address several areas such as actionable steps to creating a safe work environment, recognizing the distinct difference between four types of users (and when accommodation may be required), and considerations when you suspect that a worker’s performance or behaviour may be related to cannabis use. Employers and employees both have the right and responsibility of maintaining a safe work environment – and ensuring so always works better when it’s done together! Presented by: Detry Carragher of CARVO GROUP
